What’s the Cheaper Home Batteries Program?
The federal government is helping households pay less for home batteries.
If you install an eligible battery system from 1 July 2025, you get an up-front discount taken straight off the price. You don’t have to apply later or wait for cashback. This works the same way solar rebates have worked for years.
Instead of the government paying you directly, they issue Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) for your battery.
We help you:
Claim those certificates on your behalf
Converts them into a discount off your invoice
So you pay less from day one.
Premium batteries
We supply and install batteries that must be approved by the Clean Energy Council. You can get support for up to 50 kWh (even if you install a bigger system). Battery must be connected to solar (new or existing)
If you already have a battery and never claimed STCs, you may still be eligible when adding another one.
The discount reduces every year.
So earlier installs generally get more help than later ones. This program makes batteries noticeably cheaper than they used to be, especially right now. And like solar, the earlier you act, the better the support tends to be
